Dear parents and carers
Mr Stanton spoke to the children earlier in the week about becoming school councillors – I know there are many who are interested in securing a place. Don’t forget to help them to have their applications ready for Monday! We really want their ideas and enthusiasm for our play developments.
The LBS staff took the opportunity to have a clear out of the PlayPod on Wednesday when we had fewer children in school due to the strikes. They have done a fabulous job of making sure that all of the resources we have are stored neatly and that they are accessible to the children. Thank you for all of the donations we have received – we are definitely seeing improved lunchtimes as we add more things for the children to do! (And don’t forget to think about donating to us if you are having a clear out!)
This week, we have also tried to make sure that everyone has a pair of labelled wellie boots and have been pretty successful with this. If anyone has any wellies sized 5, 6 or 7 (adult sizes) that they no longer use and would like to donate, we would be very happy to take them from you for those children who have bigger feet than myself!
Ready, respectful and safe
These three words are at the heart of our approach to behaviour in school and we continually remind the children about them and what they mean. Sometimes children forget to live out these rules, so we talk to them and make them think about their actions and the impact their actions may have had on others. On the whole, all of our children show that they are ready (to learn), respectful and safe all of the time. We appreciate the efforts that you go to in helping with this.
World Book Day
The reading team have planned our programme of events for World Book Day this year, which you should have received an email about today. This year, we have decided to encourage the children to dress up as their favourite character on the Friday (March 3rd), something which we don’t often do as we know it can be difficult. We hope that by giving you a month’s notice, you might have time to prepare something. If the children are not dressing up as a character, then they should be in school uniform. Thank you.

The club runs term time only and it mainly focuses on building soft skills in children. These skills are built through allowing them to creatively express themselves through art and comics. The club recently presented their art work to the Mayor of The West England and the children were really proud of themselves indeed.
We would therefore like to extend an invite to Tynings students to join this thriving group. The last week for Term 3 is this Saturday (04/02/23) and we'll be enjoying different board games - so all welcome!
Term 4 will start on the 25th Feb till 25th March - flyer attached.
Please see the attached flyer for information on Young Voices Choir. This is run by the music hub and is open to all children aged 7-13.
