Dear parents and carers
It was wonderful to see so many of you during our parents evenings this week, and even more special to hear all of the positive feedback about how well your children are doing here at The Tynings – thank you all for working in partnership with us!
Have a great half term break, and we will see you all back in school on Monday 20th February.
School Council
Well done to all of the children who took part in their class hustings and were prepared to stand up to be elected for this year’s school council. I am delighted to let you know who has been elected for this year:
Y1: Cleo & Frank
Y2: Tyler-Ray & Edith
Y3: Jack J & Annabelle
Y4: Eddison & Marion
Y5: Alfie & Leah
Y6: Joseph & Ella
Mr Stanton and I look forward to working with the reps to develop our OPAL project! Reps will take the views of their year group before we have meetings, to make sure all children have the opportunity to have their say.
Wire Award
Many thanks to Mrs Brown for working hard with the children to ensure we are the recipients of a Wire Award. This is to celebrate our inclusivity in religious education, and involved Mrs Brown auditing our curriculum and taking the Y5 children to the Mosque, which was an incredibly enjoyable and revealing visit for all involved.
New Books!
We have had a lovely donation of books this week from Duncan Beedie, one of our Y6 parents. Mr Beedie has illustrated all of the books and also written ‘No Sleep for Bear.’ Thank you Mr Beedie, we look forward to reading them!
PSFA Disco
Huge thanks to the PSFA, for running their disco’s yesterday. The children had a fabulous time dancing away to DJ Kool Kids and raising funds for our OPAL school grounds project.
Please double check with the restaurant/café before buying food as the information has not been verified by South Gloucestershire Council.
