Dear parents and carers
The Year 5 and 6 children were treated to a very inspirational assembly from Corey Samuels this week. Corey plays for Bristol Flyers, and was visiting us on behalf of British Basketball as part of their ‘Ambassadors’ programme. The children listened to Corey’s journey to the first team for the Flyers, and asked brilliant questions to gain more information from him. We were also gifted a basketball, signed by all of the players and the infamous Coach K!
Corey has asked the children to nominate the best team member they know – with a prize of two tickets to see the Bristol Flyers in action for the most nominated person. I am looking forward to seeing who this will be.
Red Nose Day
Friday 17th March is Red Nose Day, and we will once again be supporting this fundraising event by holding a non-uniform day. The theme is ‘Dress up for Joy’ which our friends from Comic Relief say is about wearing something that makes you or your school smile – I know we can find plenty of things to wear around this theme! Alternatively, children can wear Red Nose Day merchandise, or dress in red. We will be collecting donations, and would love to have a minimum of 50 pence from all children!
Please see the attached poster from Bristol Sport, regarding their Easter holiday camp at The Tynings.
South Glos Music Services will be holding an open morning at Warmley Music Centre, on Saturday 25th March 2023 from 10.00am until 12.00 noon. The open morning is for anyone up to Grade 5 level. Please see the attached poster for more information.
