Dear parents and carers
This week I have been able to spend time in classes, either teaching myself, or observing the learning which is taking place. I have thoroughly enjoyed myself! I have seen excellent learning, dedicated children, and kind and caring teachers – everything I would expect from Team Tynings.
School Uniform
I have also seen some little things which have niggled me, particularly around uniform! I do expect everyone to wear our uniform, but as I have always said, it does not have to have the school logo on it as I know this costs more. Please make sure that your child has the correct uniform on, including black shoes (not trainers.) Generally the daily uniform is not too bad, but for PE I often see children wearing all sorts of bits and pieces. The children should wear plain black leggings or joggers, a plain house coloured t-shirt, and a red hoodie. For Forest School it is really important that the children have their wellies or a change of shoes as a minimum, to avoid mud being walked into the school. Thank you for your support in this – we will provide the children with spare items if they do not have their correct uniform on.
School Car Park
As you know, the school car park is for staff only, unless you have contacted the office about the need to use a disabled space. We have several parents who regularly use the car park when they should not, and this has resulted in damage to a member of staff’s car – with whoever did it driving off.
There was also a ‘near-miss’ this morning with a child running out onto the road. Please help us to keep your children safe by keeping them with you, and not walking through the car park. Thank you
Red Nose Day
Thank you to everyone who donated to Comic Relief's Red Nose Day. We have raised a wonderful £213.00.
