Dear parents and carers
Next week we will be thinking about the coronation of King Charles – the children have already begun learning about this and producing writing and art about it. To celebrate, Friday 5th May will be a dress up day, and we are asking the children to wear red, white and blue. As you know, the school meal that day will be a traditional english breakfast, which many of the children have been asking for, as well as coronation cakes. It will be great to be a little piece of history in the making! (And don’t forget, fish fingers and chips will be Thursday’s meal next week)
Great News!
I am delighted to be able to tell you that Miss Hannan and her partner Connor are expecting their first baby! Miss Hannan will continue with her current Deer class, and then be on maternity leave from September – we are looking forward to meeting the newest member of Team Tynings, and send celebrations and best wishes to Miss Hannan and Connor.
Staffing news!
Today we say goodbye to our teaching assistant and LBS, Miss Laura Noel. Miss Noel is going to work for Bath and North East Somerset NHS as a family support worker. We are really sad to see her go, but wish her the very best of luck in her new role.
Last week we said goodbye to Mrs Louise Britton, who has very capably taught Kingfisher class since September. We are hoping to see Mrs Britton back in September, but we wish her all the very best in the meantime.
Interesting and exciting news!
On Saturday 6th May, a team of staff, including myself, will be abseiling from the top of Southmead Hospital. This is to raise money for the hospital, and we would love you to sponsor us in our endeavours – I will be in touch with the link to our fundraising page on Tuesday.
Staff taking part are myself, Mr and Mrs Mundy, Mrs Pike, Mrs Shearing, Miss Hudson and Miss Thomas. One of these members of staff is hoping to overcome their fear of heights! We will be abseiling at 9.30 am if you are keen to watch!
