Dear parents and carers
It has been a wonderful week at The Tynings, helped I think by the weather. It seems the children (and staff!) have really benefitted from half term, and that everyone is raring to go. We are looking forward to inviting you in for our Dragon Exhibition next Thursday and Friday, between the hours of 9 and 5.30. It would help us if you could also avoid 11.30 – 1.30 so that we can set up the hall for lunches.
Staffing News
I am delighted to be able to share more baby news with you! Miss Esme Davies and her partner are expecting their first child early in Term 1 of the next academic year. Congratulations to another new Tynings family!
Car Parking!
One of our immediate neighbours has passed on a list of number plates of parents who are continually parking illegally or in front of driveways; whilst I do not wish to publish those number plates, the local police have advised us that we can. It would be much easier if everyone just parked appropriately – not on the zigzags, not in front of driveways, and not on the pavements! Thank you
Wrong Trousers Day
Friday 30th June is Wrong Trousers Day, where we can come to school in our wrong trousers, but wearing everything else normally. At the same time, we fundraise for the amazing Bristol Children’s Hospital, a place in the heart of many of our families who have had poorly children. Please can your children join in! Wear the ‘wrong trousers’ eg pyjama bottoms, summery shorts, or crazy trousers for a donation of £1 to The Grand Appeal for Bristol Children’s Hospital. Thank you!
Our new strapline:
One of the things we have been thinking about recently, as we move into the Leaf Trust, is what makes us unique as a school and what are our driving factors. We believe that we are deeply passionate about knowing our children and families really well and meeting the needs as learners and as human beings. We also aim to be the very best at showing our children that the world can be a beautiful place. To fit with this, we have worked on a new strapline for the school, which we hope to introduce for September. Instead of it being ‘Achieving together, Inspiring each other’ it will now be
Learning through Beauty and Excellence
….a strapline which we feel is very unique to us, reflects our aims and values and really sums up what we are passionate about. It is also something which we can measure our success by. If you have any thoughts or comments about this, please do email me.
Parent Governor Vacancy
As we move into the Leaf Trust, the role of governors will change slightly, but they will still be a critical part of our school, supporting us to be the best we can possibly be. We do have a vacancy available – if you are interested, please email the school office for the attention of Bethan Monis, our Chair of Governors, who will contact you and share more information.
Our Garden of Hope
It is lovely to see that our special commemorative roses are in bloom, and that the plants we have put into our garden at the front of the school are springing to life. However, it does look a little bit bare! If you have any small shrubs or flowering plants that you would be willing to donate, we would love to have them.
Please can I also remind you that no one should be walking over the special garden!!
