Dear parents and carers
It has been a very busy week at The Tynings! On Monday it was Odd Socks Day, and we talked about anti-bullying in our assemblies. The children know that bullying is not acceptable at our school. We talked about how we can help each other to make sure that it doesn’t happen.
We have also had a behaviour and attendance review, on Thursday. This was led by a Head Teacher from Chippenham who walked the school with me and talked to children. He was very impressed with the behaviour for learning that all of our children show in class, and with the polite children he spoke to.
Today is, of course, Children in Need. So far we have raised over £380 – a special mention must go to Woodpeckers, who contributed £100.50 to this grand total!
Upcoming events
Next Friday (November 24th) is an Inset Day. We will be working with our Leaf colleagues for the day, and school will be closed to the children.
Our Christmas Fair is on Thursday 30th November. This will be a non-uniform day, in return for donations of tombola items, particularly chocolates and bottled items.
Dietary requests.
Please note, any dietary requests must come through the office. Please do not ask Lisa, our kitchen manager directly. Thank you
Baby Bank Appeal
Over the festive period we will be asking for donations toward the local Baby Bank, to enable them to make up packages for Christmas. It would be fabulous if you were able to bring in any of the items below either on your way into a Christmas performance or any day during December.
Friday saw Tynings first spectacular fireworks display. It was a fantastic fun evening and to top it off we raised a total of £1666.00 to benefit the children of the school.
Big thank you to all who helped to make it possible and everyone who joined us to make it a brilliant event!
Mangotsfield School Winter Festival and Arts Market
Mangotsfield School will be hosting a Winter Festival which will take place on Sunday 3rd December.
We have over 50 art and craft stalls and lego craftsmen displaying who will be taking part. Music and drama will hold performances throughout the day providing wonderful entertainment. There will be a display of artwork from local primary schools exhibited which is part of a competition we are running.
The money raised from this event will be used to help fund the production of "Matilda" that Mangotsfield school is staging.
We look forward to welcoming the local community to this event.
