Dear parents and carers
An enormous thank you must go to the staff, parents and grandparents who came in last Saturday morning to work on our school grounds. We were incredibly proud of the work we did, transforming the pond area from this…
…to this!
Year 6 have continued the work in their Forest School session, planting some willow to create a dome, and clearing away some of the remaining rubbish.
We also created a digging area, which the children have had fantastic fun with this week. I spoke to the children in assemblies earlier in the week about how our new areas were going to be used – they were excited to get stuck in! We would still welcome any donations of trowels or small forks if you have any spare!
We have also had a delivery of pallets, which we are going to build a stage from, and some seating, as part of our next phase of development, and the PSFA have donated funds to purchase a large mud kitchen, and some seating, to create a ‘messy café’ area. It should be a great summer of play for the children!
Earlier in the week I also messaged about our wonderful Tynings Tree and the sad news that it will have to be cut back. Thank you for all of the ideas you have shared with us – we will be working on this next term to put plans in place.
Y4 BOOKMARK SALES
A group of Year 4 children made and sold beautiful book marks. A huge thanks to them, for their entrepreneurship, and for raising £60 for our school. Awesome work!
PSFA EASTER CHALLENGE
Don’t forget! The PSFA are running a competition for children to make Easter Bonnets or an Easter Garden. The closing date is the last day of this term – Thursday 28th March. Please hand them to the class teachers.
LOST PROPERTY
As you can see from this photograph, we have a huge amount of lost property again. Please make sure your child’s clothing is named, to help prevent this mountain growing further! All of these items will be displayed outside the main entrance, for you to claim, everyday next week.
This week we took a Year 5/6 team to an archery festival. In this festival they took part in a range of activities trying to score as many points as possible. A huge thank you to Miss Hudson for taking the team and after some incredible sharp shooting The Tynings finished a commendable 3rd place! Well done Team Tynings!
