Dear parents and carers
Great news from the MAD Olympiad!
Year 3 showed amazing determination and kindness. They supported each other and showed fantastic sportsmanship in all races and their carousels and it all paid off! Reece achieved 1st place overall in his 60m sprint FINALS with Ashton also getting through to the final race. Elsie and Fletcher won 2nd and 3rd place in their egg and spoon race and Tynings came 2nd place in the FINAL relay race. Tynings Badgers class were awarded 1st place overall in the morning event out of eight schools! Miss Hudson, Miss Hannan and Miss Davies are so proud of you all!
Following a two-year absence, the children in KS2 participated in the Mad Olympiad. As a team, we showed grit determination and resilience for our first competition back since the national lockdown. After a well-fought relay race, where we narrowly missed qualification to the final, the team’s excellent field events grabbed some vital points. Alex clearing the jumping mat and Evan’s double medal ensured a very solid performance from the team. Millie’s breath-taking run left the team and spectators on the edge of their seat after an incredible 600m. Ben collected a silver medal in the 200m, after an inspired performance from Joseph. Because of some excellent contributions from the entire team, we secured a 2nd place overall finish in Year 5! The children were recognised for their excellent participation and their kind, compassionate and caring attitudes. As teachers and staff at the Tynings, we thank all the competitors for such an amazing performance. Now to prepare for the next competition!
A huge thank you to all of the staff who were involved in making sure we could attend the event so successfully!
Mrs Butter
Yesterday I informed Otters parents that sadly Mrs Butter, who has been living with cancer for 9 years, has to have chemotherapy beginning next week. Mrs Butter will be absent for at least three months, and possibly six, depending on the success of this round of treatment. Our whole community sends her our best wishes for a successful recovery.
