Dear parents and carers
Oh how I have missed being in school this week! It was great to see the pictures from Year 3 as they celebrated the Luna New Year this week. There are events running in Bristol this weekend, if you are interested, at Bristol City Museum. These are free, but you do have to book. Thanks, to Mrs Berger for holding the fort – I will see you all on Monday!
Dress to Express Day
Another reminder that Monday is our ‘Dress to Express’ day, to launch our focus on Children’s Mental Health week. Children are able to wear non-uniform, and can wear clothes that they feel particularly reflects themselves as an individual. We are collecting donations for this, which we will use towards our ‘Garden of Hope’ which we will be developing in Term 4 at the front of the school. Your support in this is very welcome!

NHS Childhood Nutrition Campaign
Please find attached a leaflet publicising the recently launched NHS childhood nutrition campaign, which you may have seen of late in the media. The focus of the campaign is on the Better Health Food Scanner app, which encourages families to make healthier food and drink swaps. This leaflet invites families to download the app and start making healthier choices.

This week it is the turn of Badgers and Robins to give their book reviews.
Miss Hudson recommends ‘The Missing Bookshop’ by Katie Clapham and Kirsti Beautyman
"This story is about a young girl who absolutely loves story time at her local library until, one day, the book shop closes. The beloved Mrs Minty (best storyteller in the world) disappears and this leaves young Milly with lots of questions and sadness. My class loved listening to this story and enjoyed making predictions and sharing their thoughts about the characters."
Lana recommends 'Pit Stop Peril' by James Noble Jonatronix (Lana is loving one of our book band books)
"I really like this book because there is a robot with robotic arms that can hammer things. There is a hammer and tools attached to his hands! He also likes to eat really small things and when he does this, he gets full charge. After, he turns quite bad if what he ate was unhealthy. I would recommend this book to both boys and girls around 7-8 years old!"
"I recommend this book to anyone and everyone because it is quite funny and rather silly! It’s about a dog called Bill who just LOVES smelly things, rolling in mud and getting filthy! It is so funny and such an enjoyable read. I wonder if anyone can get him to change his stinky ways?"
Tyler-Ray reccomends 'The Tiger Who came To Tea' by Judith Kerr
“It’s a funny book because the tiger sits on a chair at a table!”
