Dear parents and carers
A huge well done to Year 2 children and teachers this week, who have been working on their SATs. They have worked calmly and have all tried their best!
Class organisation 2022-23
Following my letter on Thursday 18th May, thank you to those in EYFS, Y1, Y2 and Y3 classes who have already let me know their preferences for class groupings next year. Please can you return this to the class teacher, or via email as soon as possible, so that I can work on putting the classes together. Thank you
Parent Code of Conduct
I shared a draft version of this earlier in the year, and I am pleased to say it has now been ratified by the governors. The policy can be found on our website here: The Tynings School
Change to the School Day
You may have heard on the news about schools being required to have the children in school for 32.5 hours per week. We are one of the few schools who do not meet this requirement, so from September the school day will end at 3.15. Doors will open in the morning from 8.40, so that the children can be registered and ready to learn by 8.45.
School Meals
Because of the rising cost of food, Mrs Masters has recently undertaken research into how much families are charged for a school meal in the local schools. In line with other schools, school meals will be charged at £2.20 per day from September (£11.00 per week.) I appreciate that things are tight for many people at the moment, and it does not sit comfortably with me to pass on costs to you, but unfortunately it is a necessity. This was discussed and agreed wih the governing body. Thank you.
