Dear parents and carers
Thank you for your support in what has been a short, but intense Term 5! I hope everyone is able to have a good break over half term, and that you enjoy any Jubilee celebrations you attend. Don’t forget, when we come back we will be having our Jubilee focus week, with each class looking at a different decade from the Queen’s reign. We are having our celebration day on the Friday (10th June) and would like the children to dress in red, white and blue for this. Thank you to those families who have shared items from previous celebrations, including programmes from the original coronation of the Queen!
A huge thank you to the PSFA who have bought the children a commemorative badge for the Platinum Jubilee, which they will bring home today.
Ofsted Report
I had hoped that we would have received this by now, but we are still waiting. Hopefully it will be ready to go after half term!
Parent Forum
Our forum relaunch is on Thursday 9th June at 9.00, in the hall. It would be great to see as many of you there as possible. We can talk about reducing to 12 classes and how mixed classes are going to be taught. And hopefully, our Ofsted report. It is an open forum, so if you have anything else you wish to discuss and can come along, please do.
A few reminders:
- Please do not park in front of our neighbours driveways! I have had a conversation with a very upset resident this week, which could easily have been avoided if everyone takes time to think about where they are parking.
- Please make sure the children wear their school uniform. I have noticed a few items which are not part of the uniform creeping in, particularly in PE. A reminder of what they should be wearing:
Grey shorts, trousers, skirt or pinafore
White or red polo shirt, or white collared shirt (with a tie in Y6 please)
Red cardigan or jumper, with or without logo.
Gingham or striped summer dresses
Black shoes
Black, white, red or grey socks/tights
For PE: Coloured house t-shirt
Plain black shorts, leggings or joggers
Team Tynings hoodie. Hoodies should only be worn on PE days
Trainers
It would be great to see everyone looking smart, all of the time, next term!
Well done to Kayla (and her mum!) They have both grown their hair, and then had it cut off to give to the Little Princess Trust. Kayla has also raised £267 in the process! There was plenty of hair to donate, as you can see in her photo below.
And finally…. Thank you to Mrs Mundy, who has had to stand in as caretaker for Mr Mundy following the unexpected removal of his appendix. She has been amazing!
