Dear parents and carers
What a lovely, busy week! We have thoroughly enjoyed learning about different decades in the Queen’s reign. Last night’s discos were a great success – thank you to the PSFA, and today we have had a myriad of activities, including reading cafés, our NED assembly, and our street party lunch. Thanks to the staff, parents and children who have all made this week so successful!
NED Assembly
Today the children from EYFS up to Y5 had a special assembly, hosted by Shanika and NED. The children learned all about the power of ‘yet,’ building on work we did last term in our assemblies.
NED stands for N – Never give up, E – Encourage others, D – Do your best. Shanika told a story of Ned, a cartoon character, exploring each of the NED themes, which the children really enjoyed. We will continue to work on growth mindset over the coming year.
Don’t forget, you can purchase a yo-yo for your child which ties in with this assembly – the courtyard will be available at lunchtime every day, for children to practice the six tricks. Yo-yos will be on sale outside of Badger class on Monday and Tuesday next week.
Class arrangements 2022-23
Parents of children in EYFS up to Y3 should have received information about which class your child will be in. Class lists will be posted outside classrooms from Monday morning. Please note, wherever possible, your child has been placed in a class with their two buddies as requested. However, for a very small number of children, this has not been possible. I am confident that the classes have been arranged in the best way possible, in order to have classes that learn well together.
What are we learning this term?
Please look on the school website class pages to see what the children will be learning this term. These are updated regularly to reflect current work that the children are doing.
Class photos
Class photos will take place on Thursday next week; children should wear their school uniform and look smart. If they have PE, they can wear their PE Kit with their Team Tynings hoodies. Y6 leavers’ photos will also be taken.
PSFA Jubilee Book Sale
This took place at the Page Park Jubilee festival, and was a great success - £189 was raised. Thank you to those families who ran the stall – particularly the children, who really enjoyed developing their sales skills!
Kingswood Out of School Summer Club
Kingswood Out of School summer Club will be open every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from Monday 25th July right through until Thursday 25th August. Please see the attached poster for more information.
