We understand what a huge step it is when your child starts or moves school and how important it is to make the process as clear as we can. Admission to The Tynings School is co-ordinated fully by South Gloucestershire Local Authority, not by the school and we do not make any decisions regarding admissions. Once your child has a place at The Tynings School, we will make the change as positive and simple as we can.
If your child is starting in Reception in September, you can find more detailed information on our New Reception Children page. You will also find a number of dates to look round the school before the admission deadline (usually 15th January before the September your child starts school) – please email us at [email protected] or phone us on 01454 866525 to book a place on one of these tours.
If your child is moving from another school, we will invite you and your child in for at least one meeting to look round and ask any questions you or your child may have. This also gives us the opportunity to get to know you and your child, and to find out as much information to help make the transition to The Tynings School as seamless as we can. Once your child starts, we will also contact their previous school to ensure records are transferred.
We make sure new mums, dads and carers are given details of our Family Support Worker should they have any worries or concerns. You can find more details of this essential service here.
